This is a special update to discuss Downriver Fanfare, hosted by Wyandotte Roosevelt on October 2. Additionally, find some information on several non-competitive exhibition shows this week.
Downriver Fanfare
Roosevelt High in Wyandotte hosts the annual Downriver Fanfare this year on Tuesday, October 2. This competition, using Scholastic Marching Band Sheets, begins at 5:00 PM. This year, 14 bands will be performing at the event.
We do not have individual performance times (as of 9/28). The Wilson Middle School will be performing at the beginning of the competition [we suspect “The National Anthem”]. 11 Bands will be performing in competition, and the Marching Chiefs will perform their show, “Stained Glass” in exhibition.
Prior to awards, the Eastern Michigan University Marching Band (The “Pride of the Peninsula”) will perform in exhibition. The Pride of the Peninsula is under the direction of Dr. Amy Knopps.
Tickets are $8 for Adults, and $6 for Students and Seniors. Like always, this year’s Downriver Fanfare will be being live-broadcast at www.banddirector.com. We’ll post a link to the webcast in our social media on Tuesday when the event starts.
Roosevelt High is located at 540 Eureka Road in Wyandotte.

Lenawee County Marching Exhibition
Here is a blurb about the Lenawee County Marching Exhibition, provided to us by Mark Hollandsworth, Director of Bands at Blissfield High School:
“The Lenawee County Marching Band Festival is an exhibition-style, non-competitive performance held annually on the first Tuesday in October. This year’s show is on October 2 on the campus of Adrian College. The show begins at 7:15 with a performance by the Adrian College Marching Band. The show continues with performances by the 11 county high school bands. This year’s order is Clinton, Adrian Madison, Addison, Morenci, Onsted, Tecumseh, Sand Creek, Blissfield, Britton-Deerfield, Hudson, and Adrian. Come out and support the work of some of the county’s finest student musicians in a great setting. Tickets are $2/individual or $5/family and are available at the gate.”
Adrian College is, officially, located at 110 South Madison Street in Adrian. This address will take you to the main spot on campus, and not the football stadium. From what we can gather looking at a map, there is no parking at the stadium.
