Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, we’ve finally made it: the start of the 2015 Marching Competition Season!
We have three events across the State this weekend: Trenton and Rockford (both SMB), and a first-time for MCBA: Reeths-Puffer hosting a second Field Day.
Trenton
Sixteen bands will be performing at Trenton High School (2601 Charlton Street, Trenton, MI 48183). The Boyd Arthurs Middle School band opens the event at 2:00PM by performing the National Anthem. Final awards are scheduled for 6:30PM. Click for more information.
Rockford
Rockford’s contest is located at the Ted Carlson stadium, on their on High School campus (4100 Kroes St NE, Rockford, MI 49341).14 Bands will perform. Please be aware of the performance times; Rockford’s schedule differs from the typical quarter-hour-aligned format. Final Awards will be at 8:55 PM. Click for more information.
Field Day (Reeths-Puffer)
While not a competition, this is an event of note. Reeths-Puffer’s annual Preview Show has partnered with MCBA to become a “west-side” Field Day. MCBA Field Day is a clinic-format event, where bands are judged (comments only) and receive a one-on-one clinic with a participating judge. MCBA also uses these events to train judges for the upcoming season. Don’t be surprised if you see more judges than normal at these events! Bands also get more than the typical 15 minute blocks, and may even perform their show twice.
This Field Day starts at 4:20 PM and ends around 8:00PM, after Reeths-Puffer’s time block (7:40PM). There will not be an awards ceremony. This show is at Reeths-Puffer High School (1545 N. Roberts Rd., Muskegon, MI 49445). Click for more information.
To all of the bands performing, we wish you the best of luck and hope you have a great performance.
