Saturday, October 13th marks the second-to-last competitive weekend for Scholastic events. This week, four Scholastic Competitions are being held: Grandville, Alma, Lakeshore, and DeWitt.
Grandville
The Grandville Invitational begins at 9:40 AM with the playing of the National Anthem. Lakeshore
Gates open for the Lakeshore Marching Invitational, on Kohn-Lehmann Field at Al Stockman Stadium, at 1:00 PM. The official competition begins at 3:00 PM.

Competition resumes as Dowagiac takes the field in Class B at 6:15 PM. Class B concludes with Vicksburg’s second competitive appearance of the day at 7:45 PM. Another break is found at 8:00, and Class A starts at 8:15 with Portage Northern. The Portage schools sandwich Class A competition; Portage Central concludes Class A at 9:15 PM.
Lakeshore performs their competitive premiere of “ATACAMA” in exhibition at 9:30, with Class B and A Awards happening at 9:45.
It is worth mentioning that if you are heading to Stevensville from the Grand Rapids area that I-196 is experiencing construction from Holland to Douglas. Traffic is down to one lane in both directions; heading South you will have to deal with Rumble Strips for a lengthy period of time. We have traveled this way several times already this competitive season and have not experienced any traffic delays (just mild annoyances).
Also, please know that at large events, parking can become VERY limited at Lakeshore High School. As with other competitions (especially ones that are large and well attended), plan to arrive early.
Lakeshore is located at 5771 Cleveland Avenue, Stevensville, MI 49127.
