MCBA Preview: 10/13/12

Thirty-three bands perform at one of the three MCBA competitions held on Saturday, October 13. The three competitions are: Bands Across the Valley, Great Lakes Invitational, and Cedar Springs.

Ticket costs for MCBA events are $7 for Adults, and $5 for Students and Seniors.

 

Bands Across the Valley

Hosted by Highland Milford, Bands Across the Valley is located at White Lake Lakeland High School. Lakeland is located at 1630 Bogie Lake Rd, White Lake, MI 48383.

The event begins at 4:35. Bentley performs in Exhibition at 4:45, with competition officially beginning as Durand takes the field in Flight IV at 5:00 PM. Linden kicks off Flight III at 5:30, and Flight II begins at 6:15 as Saint Clair Shores Lakeview takes the field. Our Host, Milford, performs “BluePrints” in Flight II exhibition at 6:30 PM.

There will be a 15 minute break before Flight I begins at 7:15 with Grand Blanc. Our Honorary Host, Lakeland, performs “Out of Many, One” in Flight I exhibition at 8:15 PM. Awards for all flights will be at 8:45 PM.

Great Lakes Invitational

The Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Marching Band hosts the Great Lakes Invitational at their campus, located at 8415 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton, MI 48187.

The Plymouth-Canton Middle School performs the National Anthem at 4:45 PM. Competition beings at 5:00 as Grant, our Featured Band of the Week, performs “The Resistance” in Flight IV. Hazel Park performs in Flight III at 5:15. Flight II opens with Crestwood at 5:30, and concludes at 6:15 with Flushing.

Flight I begins at 6:30 with Lake Orion, followed by Walled Lake Central at 6:15, and Plymouth-Canton performs “The Last Dance” in Flight I exhibition at 7:00 PM. It is going to be very interesting to see how these three score in comparison to one another on MCBA sheets after an exciting and thrilling competition at The Silverdome for the BOA Pontiac Regional.

Awards for all Flights will be at 7:30 PM.

Cedar Springs

The Cedar Springs Invitational opens at 4:50PM, with competition beginning at 5:00. Cedar Springs is located at 204 E Muskegon St NE, Cedar Springs, MI 49319. Programs for Cedar Springs will cost $2.

Newaygo begins competition in Flight IV at 5:00 PM. Kent City concludes Flight IV competition at 6:15. There will be a 30 minute break after Flight IV. Jenison competes in Flight II at 7:00, and Flight III begins at 7:15 with Mt. Pleasant. Fruitport follows, and Cedar Springs performs “2012” in exhibition at 7:45 PM.

Awards for all Flights will be at 8:00 PM.
