Competition Preview: 9/15/12

Saturday, September 15, officially starts the MCBA competitive season with the Lamphere competition. Also on Saturday, Wayne Memorial hosts a Scholastic Clinic Show (similar to MCBA Field Day, but using Scholastic sheets). In the non-competitive sector, Walled Lake Central is hosting the Walled Lake Central Preview show.

Lamphere Invitational

Opening Ceremonies for the Lamphere MCBA Invitational begin at 3:50pm this Saturday. Competition begins at 4:00pm with Atherton in Flight IV. L’Anse Creuse North, Troy Athens, and Lakeland compete in Flight I, and Lamphere performs in Flight III exhibition. While this is a small contest, it will be a great one for these bands to get their feet wet in a competitive arena for what we’re hoping will be a great 2012 season.

Lamphere is located at 610 West 13 Mile Road in Madison Heights. Tickets should be around $7 for adults, and $5 for students and seniors.

After each band has performed their field show, they will come together as a mass band to perform “America, the Beautiful.”

Gates open at 5:00pm, with performances starting at 7:00pm. Tickets are $5, Senior Discount is $3, and Child 6 and Under are admitted for free.
